Call for Submissions
Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine
Special Issue – Advancements in Mass Spectrometry as a Tool for Clinical Analysis

Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM) is pleased to announce a call for submissions for a special thematic issue on Advancements in Mass Spectrometry as a Tool for Clinical Analysis, which will be published in in the first half of 2020. The submission deadline is August 15, 2019.
Potential topics of interest include:
• Mass spectrometry in clinical ‘omics: metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics
• Miniaturization and/or portability of mass spectrometers for rapid/on-line analysis
• Modern ionization/sample delivery methods for clinical analysis
• Measurement of illicit drug use
• Identification of bacterial species using mass spectrometry (e.g. MALDI-MS)
• Alternative mediums for analysis (e.g. exhaled breath gases/condensate, saliva)
• Molecular imaging of tissue slices
• Multiplexed assays for biomarker panels of disease
• Mass spectrometry for prognosis/risk prediction of outcome in disease
• Advances in high resolution mass spectrometry in the clinical laboratory
• Advances in supercritical fluid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry
About Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine:
• CCLM is one of the leading journals in the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine with a 2017 impact factor of 3.556
• Affiliated with the European Society of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) and 10 national Clinical Societies
• Peer-reviewed and led by a multi-institutional editorial board
• Focused on latest developments in the clinical laboratory sciences and novel teaching and training methods
• Published by De Gruyter, an international, independent scientific publisher
The general goal of the Mass Spectrometry theme issue will be to bring to the forefront the application of mass spectrometry as a powerful tool for clinical analyses.
